There are a lot of things that you need to have for your horse. Towels are quite helpful. They are great for wiping dirt off of your horse, and they can also help dry a horse. Blankets are extremely useful for several reasons. They can help a horse cool off when it’s hot, and they can help a horse stay warm when it’s cold. They can also protect a horse form harsh weather. Your horse definitely deserves a special blanket – and you do too! You can order a cool, customized, human blanket from zuniquely.com!
Apart from blankets and towels, though, there is plenty of other stuff, in terms of tack, that you will need for your horse. In English riding, you will need a saddle pad, saddle, girth, and bridle. You have to make sure that all of these items fit and are comfortable for your horse. The saddle pad goes on top of the horse’s back first. You then put the saddle down right on top of it. Make sure not to forget the girth, because if you do, the saddle and saddle pad won’t be secured to the horse and will fly right off with you when you get on! The girth needs to be fastened around the horse’s underside and to both sides of the saddle. The saddle has girth straps, which are to be out through the straps on the pad, if the pad has them. Then the girth’s buckles are connected to the girth straps. Once the girth is on, be sure to check it again and tighten it before you get on. Now, let’s talk about the bridle. There are several different ways to put a bridle on a horse, so the way that you do it depends on personal preference. Make sure that the bit goes in the horse’s mouth. Also be careful when you put the horse’s ears through the bridle – always bend them forward, not backward. Clearly, there are a lot of things you need for your horse, and we’ll provide more details bout these things in upcoming blog posts.
